The University of Texas at Tyler, Caldwell Zoo, Discovery Science Place, numerous parks, and much more contribute to Tyler’s diverse and energetic community. Tyler is known for its barbecue and live music scene. Stanley’s Famous Pit BBQ has served up true, pit-smoked BBQ for over 59 years and was voted the best live music venue in East Texas in 2020.

The Tyler Rose Garden has thousands of roses blooming in a kaleidoscope of colors. The Texas Rose Festival is held the third weekend of October each year and offers enchanting ceremonial events. By 1960, blooming azaleas attracted the Chamber of Commerce to establish a marked route featuring about 60 homes on a five-mile route. As of 2004, the Azalea Trail stretches eight miles and attracts over 100,000 visitors to Tyler.

Dive into the world of art and culture at the Tyler Museum of Art, showcasing captivating exhibits that will ignite your imagination. Tyler’s historic downtown district boasts a vibrant shopping and dining scene. Andy’s Frozen Custard, Black Pearl, Café 1948, and more provide a unique experience. Tyler State Park offers picturesque trails, serene lakes, and camping, fishing, and boating opportunities.
