While our operator was located at our Delek US headquarters in Brentwood, Tennessee, the BVLOS remote flight launched and provided surveillance all the way in El Dorado, AR at Delek’s El Dorado Refinery. This launch marked a significant milestone in the continued integration of autonomous drones in our applications – one aspect of our Smart Refinery initiative. Delek continues to leverage cutting-edge technologies to ensure safe and reliable operations.

Revolutionizing Emergency Response, Inspection and Monitoring:

In partnership with Percepto, the leading autonomous drone inspection and monitoring solution provider, Delek is employing remote capabilities to enhance operational efficiency and improve emergency response time. The BVLOS waiver granted our operators the ability to be at an off-site location streamlining our operation while increasing worker safety.

“This is an exciting day for Delek,” says Delek US Chief Information and Data Officer Ido Biger. “We are proud to be the first to utilize BVLOS drone flights for our Smart Refinery in El Dorado. Our drone program is a key part of a digitalization strategy, and enables safe and reliable operations for our team members on the ground.”

Percepto Receives the First Federal Aviation Administration Waiver:

Percepto’s BVLOS approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) sets the stage for transformative advancements in various industries. By harnessing the power of Percepto’s technology, Delek US reaffirms its commitment to adopting innovative solutions that prioritize safety, efficiency, and environmental stewardship. Delek plans to utilize the BVLOS technology minimizing our environmental footprint and boosting employee and community safety at scale.
